Policia Nacional arrested a mafia boss from Italy who sold cocaine on Orihuela Costa.
Simone Bartiromo, who lives in an urbanisation, was about to leave his house and get into his vehicle when officers arrested him on Wednesday.
Bartiromo, 36, was on Italy’s ‘Most Wanted’ list and had been on the run for three years.

If convicted, he could face 24 years behind bars for four drug-trafficking charges.
Bartiromo organised cocaine deliveries to the Sorianello Camorra in Naples, and was linked to the Secondigliano coalition- a mafia alliance.
In 2013, the Policia Nacional received a tip-off that the fugitive was hiding in Spain. Together with their Italian counterparts, they worked to track him down.
Alicante units, Barcelona units, and Malaga units all took part in this operation to track down Bartiromo. He continued his criminal activity.
It involved transporting cocaine and distributing it via contacts in Barcelona or Malaga.
Bartiromo, along with his mafia associates, supplied narcotics for other criminal gangs throughout Europe.
Now, the National Court will process Italy’s request for extradition.
