An outdoor brawl that took place between Italians in Altea’s Old Town on Saturday morning caused a skull injury to one of the parties.
Alicante General Hospital placed the Italian victim, 27 years old, into an induced-coma due to his severe injuries.
Guardia Civil detained a 24-year old Spaniard one hour after the attack.

A Benidorm Court had charged him with bodily injury. He was released on bail Monday.
He allegedly punched an Italian who fell on the ground at the Plaza de la Iglesia. His head was swollen from the impact.
Around 1.30am, several Spaniards – possibly up to 12 – and Italians clashed after being kicked out of the popular La Mascarada Bar.
They were reportedly in disagreement over a trivial issue and the dispute escalated outside.
The injured Italian – who was with a brother and girlfriend of a member of the group – began to trade blows with the man arrested.
The two men were joined by more people, some of whom tried to separate them while others hurled chairs at each other.
Social media has been flooded with videos of the brawl, which were recorded by witnesses.
Guardia Civil conducted interviews in order to discover the reason for the fight.
