Two Guardia Civil police officers were injured when an Irish driver rammed their car during a 15-kilometre chase through the Murcia region.
The man wanted to avoid being stopped, as he was carrying garbage bags full of drugs in the boot of his car.
The pursuit took place on Saturday evening in the Lorca region when the driver refused to stop for the Guardia while driving on the A-7.

He intentionally struck the patrol car at the start his escape to immobilise.
He put other road users’ lives at risk during the high-speed pursuit.
Other patrol cars were called in to stop the man in La Hoya.
Even when he was intercepted, he was said to have put up ‘tremendous resistance’.
Guardia Civil officers searched his car, which contained what appeared to contain marijuana in two large bin-bags.
The charges against him include reckless driving, assaulting an officer of the police, disobeying police and drug possession.
On the docket is also the offense of driving without a license.
The Irish detainee has not been further identified.
