A 58 YEAR OLD Irish National has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder for slashing another Irish man’s neck in La Zenia, Orihuela Coast.
The assault took place in a culde-sac on June 15, at about 1.30am.
The victim, 29 years old, was approached behind as she urinated next to a transformer.

The attacker fled, leaving his victim in need of a life-saving surgery at Torrevieja Hospital.
A court in Orihuela, despite the severity of the attack, released the knifeman on bail and issued an order of protection for the victim.
The suspect was found to have a criminal record for drug trafficking and homicide in Ireland.
After the assault, the victim, 29, who has a criminal background, told Guardia Civil he knew the assailant, but was unwilling to reveal his identity.
The Guardia launched Operation Combination in order to find the attacker.
‘Exhaustive’ analysis of evidence led to an identification and the recovered victim also decided to cooperate.
Officers found that the assailant had fled his lodgings and were unaware of his location until a Orihuela Policia Local officer spotted him at a local park on 30 June.
He was arrested and had no documents of identification on him.
The Guardia Civil called their Irish counterparts in order to match fingerprints.
