Starting June 26, 2025, the Casa de Las Tejerinas in Estepona’s Plaza de las Flores will open the “El Rincón de Camille” art and sculpture exhibition by artist Francisco Javier Antolín.
This exhibition is inspired by the French sculptor Camille Claudel who was Auguste Rodin’s muse. It will run from July 9 to August 9. According to an Estepona Council press release, the admission is free. Visits are available from Tuesday to Friday 9am-8pm, Saturday 9am-2pm, 4pm-8pm.
Born in Madrid in 1971 and currently residing in Algeciras, Antolín is a sculptor, painter, and draughtsman with a Fine Arts degree specialising in sculpture from the University of Salamanca. In France, he was awarded an Erasmus scholarship to study at the Toulouse School of Fine Arts. With over 30 years of artistic and teaching experience, Antolín has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions and various art projects.
A recent highlight of his career includes a sculpture exhibition at the 12th edition of “Caprichos” at Málaga’s La Concepción Botanical Garden. In 2024, he presented “Los Sueños de Nefertiti”, an exhibition inspired by the ancient Egyptian queen, at the same Casa de Las Tejerinas venue. His work has been primarily a painting over the years.
The “El Rincón de Camille” exhibition will be an eye-opening show of Antolín’s versatile talent, taking his inspiration from Claudel’s emotive and groundbreaking sculptures. Casa de Las Tejerinas is in the Plaza de la Flores in central Estepona.
