Hundreds of fake items discovered during police raid on popular tourist market in Benidorm’s ‘English Zone’ – CSN News


Four traders who were selling fake goods at a Benidorm street market that is popular with tourists, have been arrested.

The Policia Nacional is trying to locate a fifth missing stallholder.

1290 counterfeit items were discovered at the twice-weekly Rincon de Loix market in the city’s ‘English Zone’.

Police raided stalls following a complaint by a company acting on behalf of companies to protect their brand.

They claimed that some dealers were violating copyrights by selling counterfeit goods with false labels.

An expert in trademarks accompanied the police to inspect the Rincon de Loix shops. Five offenders were found.

You can buy sportswear and clothing as well as bags.

All the fake goods were seized, and four of five male owners (all aged between 26-59) were arrested.

The charges include crimes against intellectual and industrial property.
