March for the Classic & Sportscar Club was a great success with a really good run at the beginning of the month, finishing in Puerto de la Torre, Malaga, a great turnout for the Cars and Coffee meeting in Puerto Banus at YANX American diner and then to finish the month, an amazing weekend comprising two days of car runs and two nights with fabulous dinners at the beautiful Lake Vinuela Hotel.
The March Classic & Sportscar Run
Breakfast was served just outside Malaga for the March car run. The route continued to the mountains surrounding the City. This included Casabermeja Colmenar Montes de Malaga Villanueva and Comares. Then, we descended past the Almogia lakes and continued towards Malaga for the finish lunch at Restaurant Las Navas. Everyone agreed that the route had been fantastic and the lunch was excellent!

Weekend at Lake Vinuela
The Lake Vinuela Hotel Base is absolutely stunning. It was recently renovated to a high-standard. The lake is now full and looks stunning. It was the perfect setting for a fun-filled weekend, with cars, food and wine.
The two day routes started from Hotel Tamisa Golf Mijas Costa and took in places such as Alfarnate and the oldest Inn of Andalucia. There was also a spectacular climb out and up of Periana that offered stunning views over the coastline and Lake Vinuela.
On day 1, the route took us to the El Chorro Lakes with a coffee break by the lake. A lunch stop followed at an old Venta in Villanueva de la Concepción, on the edge of the Torcal, which was much enjoyed before heading past Rio Gordo and an afternoon arrival at Lake Vinuela in time for some bar snacks and a bit of a rest. After the Cava, all participants enjoyed a delicious dinner in the hotel’s beautiful dining room. The Bar stayed open late…!
The Saturday run began after a relaxed 11.00am breakfast. We headed to Alfarnate by way of the Periana Climb which is spectacular. Next, we stopped at the Alfarnate Inn for coffee, the oldest one in Andalucia. After a run through the Zaffaraya Pass, we stopped for lunch at RioFrio. It was a great experience. Then, it was back to the Vinuela Hotel to enjoy the bar snacks. Then, the boat was really pushed out with a spectacular dinner in the hotel that night and, of course, the Bar was open late…
The majority of participants thought that the weekend was perfect.

Meet Cars and coffee
The Club continued with it’s run of monthly ‘Cars and Coffee’ meetings at YANX American Diner in Centro Plaza, Puerto Banus mid-month. Each time, the event attracted a large number of interesting cars. The weather was warm and sunny on both occasions. It is likely that the same will happen at the next event, scheduled for Sunday, April 19, in the same location. These events are free and no booking is required. Just show up between 10.00am and 1.00pm with your car and enjoy the cars and coffee, and the company. An Entry fee of €15 per car gets €10 of vouchers to spend in YANX American Diner for coffees and breakfast etc.

April Classic & Sportscar Run
The Club is planning a fantastic car run on April 11th. The event is based out of the InMood Hotel at San Roque Golf Club. On Saturday morning, the Run will start at InMood Hotel where breakfast will be served. The Run will be easy and gentle with a Cava stop, a coffee stop and fast roads. The event will end at the InMood Hotel with a fantastic lunch. Cost of lunch will be €50pp including a ‘Copa de Bienvenida’ on arrival, three-course lunch and wines/beers/ waters included.
You can book directly with the Hotel. Rooms can be booked directly with the Hotel Make a weekend of it! Check out their website.

TRACK DAY at Circuito Guadix
On Sunday, April 12, I will take a group of people to Circuito Guadix. Open pit lane is available from 09.30am until 5.00pm. It is a fantastic circuit, very busy, but safe. There are plenty of run-off zones and nothing to get hit. There’s a cafeteria on site, and you can borrow helmets. You will also find a couple instructors, including myself, to guide you. You can do as many laps as you like in total safety. You can join in on the fun by giving me a call, or sending me an e-mail. It’s the perfect way to get your chariot moving and discover your limits, all in safety. This is a very inexpensive, fun day out and will cost only €250 per person.

Formula 1 News
The F1 circus will be taking a more than a month-long break due to the cancellations in Bahrain and Saudi Grands Prix, which were scheduled to run in April.
George Russell, a British driver in a Mercedes works car, is currently leading the Drivers’ Championship. Ferrari and McLaren follow closely behind. Mercedes is currently leading the prestigious Constructors’ Championship. The young Italian Kimi Antonelli has performed above expectations, and contributed a large number of points to the team. It’s too early to make predictions! This one-month break may help with the development of these cars, which is done at a frenetic pace even at the best times!
