Greek fugitive wakes up to rude awakening in Costa Blanca hotel room


Policia Nacional officers snubbed a Greek fugitive who was chilling in an Alicante Hotel.

The convicted felon had been part of an armed robbery group that carried out home invasions in Athens and Alexandroupoli between 2009-2013.

Authorities claimed that the group specialized in stealing electronic devices.

Unknown man fled after he was sentenced to seven years of prison.

The Policia Nacional was informed by their Greek counterparts of the location of the criminal on the Costa Blanca.

Officers executed a European Arrest Warrant by entering the bedroom of the hotel.

The fugitive escaped from the prison and was brought to Alicante to be processed before being handed over to the National Court for Greece’s request of extradition.
