Marbella’s social scene sparkled at the Hotel Don Pepe Gran Meliá during the 14th Global Gift Gala, hosted by actress María Bravo, Eva Longoria, and a constellation of celebrities on Sunday, July 20.
The gala held in the hotel gardens raised funds for Global Gift Foundation. It is a humanitarian organisation that supports charities such as Casa Angeles Marbella. Casa Angeles Marbella transforms the lives of children, families, and women who are in poverty. Currently Casa Ángeles helps some 600 families in the city. British journalist Nick Ede emceed with warmth and elegance the event. Lorena Bernardal, actress, coach and charity worker, was also present.
Maria Bravo pays heartfelt tribute to Global Gift Gala
Longoria is a Marbella-lover who has highlighted the importance of the gala in helping children with special needs. Bravo, the founder of the organisation, gave a moving tribute to her deceased father that highlighted the event’s legacy. “I have an incredible peace because I believe that what we have been able to achieve in these fourteen years is seen in the Casa Ángeles; it is seen in the children who go to therapy. The children who are receiving therapy benefit their families. Bravo was excited to share all she had accomplished since founding the Foundation.
The red carpet was filled with luminaries like designer Vicky Martín Berrocal, actress Macarena Gómez, actor Amaury Nolasco, TV personality Boris Izaguirre, former footballer Bernd Schuster, and Lorena Bernal, all rallying for the cause.
Global Gift Gala honors socially conscious entrepreneur
Kevin Fearnley was presented with the Global Gift Philanthropreneur Award, which he received for his community-building and socially-conscious initiatives. Marbella’s mayor, Ángeles Muñoz, joined a municipal delegation to show support. Proceeds from the evening will go directly to Casa Ángeles.
This evening of culture and music was presented by Nota Blu New Brasserie at Finca Besaya and Mamzel. Performances by George Reyes, son of the iconic Gipsy Kings singer, leading Gipsy Reyes Heritage, and flamenco legend José el Francés rounded off the night, paying homage to their musical roots.
