AS Europe gears up for The Eurovision Song Contest in Basel (Switzerland) an unlikely spotlight is being thrown on modest Fuengirola on the Costa del Sol.
Kyle Alessandro is an 18-year old singer-songwriter from Levanger in Norway who grew up there.
Kyle’s father is originally from Madrid, and he moved to the town with his Norwegian wife Kyle and son.

Kyle has developed a strong connection with Fuengirola. He frequently visits and speaks perfect Andalucian Spanish.
Kyle’s musical career began when he was 10 years old. He won the Norske Talenter competition, earning him a golden buzzer which propelled him into the finals. He then joined the group Umami Tsunami, who performed Geronimo for Melodi Grand Prix in 2023. However, they came last.
Kyle was not deterred and returned to Melodi Grand Prix in 2025 as a solo performer with the song Lighter, which he co-wrote with Swedish producer Adam Woods. The song won him Norway’s Eurovision ticket.


Melody, who was born in Dos Hermanas on October 12, 1990 and rose to fame with her infectious summer song El baile del gorila at the age of 10 years, is a Sevilla native.
The song catapulted her to fame, earning her double platinum certification in Spain as well as a Latin Grammy nomination.
Six studio albums, as well as numerous singles, combine pop, flamenco and Latin influences. She has had a career spanning over 20 years, and during that time she has grown from a child prodigy to a versatile musician.
