Keeping up appearances in Fuengirola

Fuengirola – Keeping your appearance up

Fuengirola Town Hall has developed a special cleaning plan for the busy summer period.

The mayor of Ana Mula has announced that from June to September, 38 more workers will be added to the cleaning crew to deal with the waste and increased demands caused by the increase in tourists and visitors.

Mula said, “Fuengirola’s cleanliness and order has always been a point of pride for the city as demonstrated by awards such as the Ecovidrio Green Flag.” “This is because we have been prioritizing this service for years, both to benefit our residents and improve the image of Fuengirola as a tourist destination.” Mula said. “We must provide additional resources in order to maintain and improve this standard.

The extra staff are focusing on collecting solid waste and sweeping streets. They will also empty bins. This is especially important in areas of high traffic such as the city center, promenade and densely populated neighborhoods. Mula reminded residents of the summer hours for waste disposal, which are in force. According to council regulations, rubbish must be placed into bins after 8pm. She also urged residents to make an advance call to 900101 889 for the free collection of furniture and bulky items. This free service keeps our city neat and presentable, she said.

Mula called on residents and tourists to work together in order to maintain Fuengirola’s high standards. “The Town Hall has made a great effort, but the true success of Fuengirola depends on all us,” Mula said. Fuengirola’s clean reputation depends on the responsibility of everyone in public areas. It is everyone’s responsibility to keep Fuengirola a benchmark of quality of life and clean.
