Fuengirola bipolar artists turns psychoanalyst

David Pascual Arroyo is a well-known Fuengirola singer and songwriter. On Tuesday, 18th March, he was a special guest in a class of Psychology students at the Faculty of Psychology at Malaga University.

David, a bipolar man who has been gaining in prominence on the Costa del Sol’s art scene, relied on his artistic expression to help him gain control of his condition. He also flourished as a successful professional artist. David’s artistic expression piqued interest at the prestigious University and he was invited for an interview.

The advanced psychology students were fascinated by the question of whether David Pascual Arroyo painted on canvas to inspire others or, if not what inspired him to do so.

I’m an egotist,’ he piped up, ‘The number one contemporary artist in the world is me.” to the gasps he received at his audacity. Despite the intensity with which they studied human psychology, they didn’t expect to be so bold.

David then asked the students why they studied psychology and how they feel about their choice. The responses were all very inspiring.

David Pascual Arroyo, an artist who has always provoked the deepest reflection, went to the extent of turning the psychoanalysis back on the psychologists.
