Fuengirola Beaches Prepare for Busy Easter Week with Intensive Lifeguard Service


Fuengirola beaches will be busy this Easter with the warm weather forecast (after the cold weekend). Rescue and first-aid operations have been launched across the local coastlines to ensure everyone has a safe seaside getaway.

Early activation to avoid peak holiday crowds

Services swing The coverage will begin on Saturday, 28 March and continue every day between 11am and 9pm until Sunday, 5 April. The coverage will then be limited to weekends and holidays until May 31, when it will return to normal. This schedule is in accordance with the increase in tourists heading to the coast over the festive season.

Focus on beach repair after winter storms

Recent storms have caused widespread damage. battered stretches of shorelineTeams have been working tirelessly to restore the areas and provide the best conditions. Holidaymakers can now enjoy clean, well-prepared beach areas along the Mediterranean coast.

A team of 43 professionals is on duty

The backbone of the operation during Holy Week is a dedicated team of 43 experts. The roles range from coordinators, communications operators, to medical personnel, including two emergency technicians, a doctor and a nurse. Additional personnel are needed for boat handling, lifeguards on the move, watchtower duty, rescue modules, and assisted bathing specialists.

Response capabilities are improved by advanced equipment.

The ten surveillance towers, the four rescue modules and the coordination hub are all ready. Four platforms for assisted bathing have also been adapted. The bookings of the accessible swimming service are handled by qualified staff on 691102985. Emergency assets include a life-support ambulance, a buggy with medical equipment, a patrol boat and a jetski.

Seasonal rules for future planning

Dogs are prohibited from beaches starting with the beginning of bathing season. The only exception is the dog-friendly zone that borders Mijas. From 1 June onwards, the high season will see extended hours, up to 20:30, an increase in lifeguards (to 55) and additional watercrafts, including three Jet Skis.

Temporary access restriction near historical site

While coastal authorities repair storm damage, a small section of the beach at the castle will remain closed. Reopening is planned as soon as it’s possible.

Holidaymakers are encouraged to follow safety guidelines, check the weather conditions and reserve slots for assisted bathing in advance. Fuengirola is firmly positioned as the premier destination on the Costa del Sol for Easter holidays that are safe and enjoyable.
