Fourth body in a week found floating off Manilva coast

Four bodies in one week have been found floating near the coast of Manilva

A body believed to be a migrant has washed up on the shores of the Costa del Sol. It is the fourth dead body discovered in less than a week.

On Wednesday, a passing sailboat saw the victim floating near Puerto de la Duquesa (Manilva).

Salvamento Maritimo’s patrol boat found the body soon after the alert.

The victim is a young man who was in his early twenties and drowned when he attempted to swim the dangerous distance to Ceuta.

It is important to note that the word “you” means “you”. Subdelegacion del Gobierno Strong currents are believed to have dragged the victims up the coast, after they failed to reach Spain’s enclave on the North African coast.

In recent weeks, dozens of migrants drowned while trying to cross the Strait of Gibraltar.

The real death toll in the current crisis is unknown.

The border collapsed and thousands of migrants rushed into Ceuta.

The Spanish government said Morocco is cooperating ‘loyally and permanently’ with Spain, actively intervening to stop many more people from reaching the exclave.

According to a joint press release, Interior Minister Fernando Grande Marlaska will visit Ceuta this Friday. The two countries are committed to speeding up the procedures for returning anyone who has entered Spain illegally.

The government’s description as a partner is in contrast to recent claims made by Spanish police unions that Moroccan authorities were complicit, if not passive, during the surge.

After thousands of uncontrolled migrants flooded into Ceuta around midday, the government has not specified how many or when they will be returned.

El Pais reported that Guardia Civil and emergency crews had been overwhelmed by the midday of Thursday, and were only able attend to those who were injured.

The increase dwarfed the arrivals of 1,500-2,000 people over the past ten days.

The witnesses reported people arriving in Spain drenched and happy, hugging, kissing and throwing their flip flops up into the air.
