Javier Dorado’s career as a footballer
Born in Talavera de la Reina in 1977, Dorado joined Real Madrid’s youth ranks in 1996. Dorado made his debut for the senior squad against Valencia during a Copa del Rey game in 1999. In 2000, despite only playing eight first-team games, he was a member of the squad which won the Champions League. Dorado left Real Madrid for Rayo Vallecano in 2002.
He went on to play for several Spanish clubs, including Mallorca and Atlético Baleares, where he eventually retired in 2012 at the age of 35.
Javier Dorado’s battle with cancer
According to ASDorado was battling cancer and suffered a relapse about two years ago. He was waiting in Palma, Mallorca for a bone-marrow transplant, but he ultimately succumbed.

Real Madrid has released an official statement via Instagram.
Real Madrid C.F.’s president and board of directors are deeply shocked by the death of Javier Dorado. He was a Real Madrid academy graduate, who played for our first team in 1999 and 2000.
Real Madrid offers its condolences, love, and support to his loved ones and family as well as the teams and players he played with.
Javier Dorado, who played two seasons for Real Madrid, won one European Cup in Paris (2000).
Javier Dorado died at the age of 48. “May he rest in Peace.”
Real Mallorca and Dorado’s other former clubs paid tribute to Dorado.
