Ford Puma – Where Style Meets Affordability

The Puma is a rare SUV that boasts a distinct style. Ford

Ford’s Puma has been a popular car on our roads since the early 2000s. Its Porsche Macanesque design still gets admiring looks.  In a supermarket, as I was parking my Puma, a young couple came by and said, “That is the new Puma.” She said, “Nice isn’t that?” They both drove past each other in their Porsche SUV a few minutes later. You’re probably right if you believe that many people buy cars because they are attractive and then claim they did so for other, more sensible reasons.

Ford’s reputation for affordable cars that make drivers smile is hard earned. The Puma lives up to its reputation, showing a willingness to take on corners that a taller body would warn you against. A sports body kit enhances the sportier ST-Line or ST in all of the right spots. It’s important to check that the ride suits you before you make your final decision.

Prices start at €30,756/£26,580 for a Puma that comes with a 1.0-litre 125PS engine and shares all the attributes of dearer cars. For improved eco credentials, the Pumas add a mild hybrid engine to the mix. A Puma EV is also available. The 1.0 litre engine comes with 155PS, 170PS, and six-speed manual or seven-speed automatic transmissions. It is available in five trim levels.

Puma’s cockpits are modern and functional, but they lack the lustre of rivals. It’s spacious up front, with plenty of room for the back. But the clever part is in the boot. Ford’s MegaBox 80-litre waterproof compartment is located under the boot floor. It has a drain plug and is perfect for dirty wellies. Even the Puma is packed with goodies. It has power heated powered mirrors, autolights, high beam assistance, autowipers, cruise, climate, and selectable driving modes.

Puma has a distinct style that is different from many other SUVs. It’s not aggressive or blingy, and it looks great for its price. Gen-E can be ordered in full electric.
