Five roads were closed early Friday morning in the provinces Cadiz Cordoba, and Seville due to flooding. Another road in Almeria had to be closed off because of ice and snow. Traffic authorities (DGT), updated at 9.45am with the latest information regarding the difficulties caused by Storm Ingrid.

“The accumulation of water and snow has disrupted traffic on several roads in Andalucía. Stay informed and use extreme caution,” 112 writes in a post to X. They recommend drivers check the DGT’s website for the latest information.

The regional government of Andalucía has activated the pre-emergency phase due to the risk of flooding.

At the moment, the state meteorological agency (Aemet) has activated a yellow warning for snowfall for Friday in the provinces of Jaén and Granada, where a wind warning has also been issued. On the coasts in Almeria and Granada as well as Huelva, Cadiz and Huelva, yellow warnings are not ruled-out for wind and waves.

Aemet’s forecast for Friday is “very cloudy sky with moderate rainfall in the first half of day. There may be locally heavy rains around the Strait of Gibraltar”. Aemet predicts that although there may be some respite during the morning, “clouds will increase and moderate rain will move from west to eastern in the afternoon”.

There will be weak frosts and a slight drop in temperatures, as well as a snow cover of around 1,000 metres. Winds from the west will be moderate, with strong gusts in high places and along the coasts of the Mediterranean.

The CA-5201 Los Parralejos to Charco Dulce road from km 2 to 12, the CA-9208 Algeciras to 1.5 km kilometres, and the CA-9209 Algeciras to Los Barrios kilometres 0, 0 – 4.

The CO-4207 Jarata-La Zarza from kilometre 4 to 6 in Montalbán (Cordoba province) and the SE-5203 from kilometre 0 to 4.7 in La Gironda (Arahal municipality, Seville province) are closed due to flooding.

In the province of Almeria, the AL-5405 Benacebada-La Estación from kilometre 24 to 28.13 is closed due to ice and snow, while the use of chains is compulsory from kilometre 9 to 30 on the A-1178 at the Las Menas mountain pass.
