Malaga Fines Examples

The local police in Malaga have warned of a new scam involving fake fines that feature the DGT logo. The police assures the public that the amount on the fake postal fines is not the same as the official amount for minor offenses.
The Ministry of the Interior (and perhaps the General Directorate of Traffic) have become accustomed, and maybe a bit bored, of scams such as this with false fines. Many victims are fooled by the scam, and pay quickly in order to avoid it. Police have only recently confirmed that the QR Code that appears on a page leads to a fake page.
You should be on the lookout for the following: basic information like the identity number of the police officer that issued the fine, the location of the offense, and vehicle information such as number plates of the offending vehicles.
Malaga Council said in a press release that the amount of the false fine is not the amount set for the offence.
They have also reminded the public that if they suspect that a fine may be false, there are two telephone numbers that can be used to either report the situation, or verify whether or not the fine is true. Drivers can also check their fines on the DGT’s website.
