The Spanish Grand Prix 2025 will take place in Barcelona from Friday May 30 to Sunday June 1 this weekend. It will be the ninth round of Formula 1’s season.
Circuit de Barcelona – Catalunya has been the focus of attention due to its tight championship rankings, high temperatures and teams releasing new updates.
McLaren’s Oscar Piastri currently leads the race.
Oscar Piastri, of McLaren, is currently leading the standings after scoring 161 points. Lando Norris’ teammate Lando is only three points back following a Monaco victory. Max Verstappen, of Red Bull, is 25 points behind, which means that any of the three top drivers could be the champions. Formula1.com.
McLaren leads the constructor’s race with 319 points. Only five points separate Mercedes from Red Bull and Ferrari for second. Williams and Racing Bulls have a close battle in the middle of the field.

Expect sunshine all weekend with highs of 30°C and zero chance of rain on race day. F1.com predicts a light breeze and high level clouds for Sunday. The weather will be stable, but physically challenging.
Barcelona is the race where many teams make major upgrades. It’s a benchmark. Pirelli says that a new FIA directive regarding flexible wings may impact performance.
Former Renault driver Jolyon Parker told reporters that the track has a layout of 4.657km, and Turn 1 will be the most important overtaking opportunity. Formula1.com:
“It’s really flowing and tough on the neck and body because of the long corners… Overtaking can be tricky, with Turn 1 pretty much the only spot you can pass at.”
