Local artist’s terracotta sculpture exhibition “Ana’s World II”

Exhibition of terracotta sculptures by local artists “Ana’s World II”

Anette Skou, a local artist, dedicates her time after retiring from the Foreigners Department of Mijas Town Hall to creating sculptures in terracotta or stoneware.

Anette describes Anette’s creative process as intuitive, poetic and intuitive. She does not sketch before hand; rather, the figures appear naturally out of the clay. Each piece has its own story or symbolism.

The sculptures, made from white, black, and stoneware clay, retain their original colour even after being fired. Other pieces are colored using natural pigments or acrylics.

Her latest exhibition, “Ana’s World II” will be on display from 28 November to 26 December at ESCANDI DESIGN, Ctra de Mijas – Fuengirola km 2.5 – a special venue where art, decoration and furniture design blends in perfect harmony.

The event’s strong charitable mission is a highlight. Anette is actively involved with the women’s organisation Soroptimist International Costa del Sol. Ten percent of all sculpture sales and ESCANDI Design sales on 28th November will be donated to their “Food Bank Project”.

The exhibitions inauguration will take place on November 28th from 5pm to 9pm, accompanied by live music from Morton & Green. You are all invited to a night of art, charity and community spirit.
