Exhibition of surrealist dreamlike images in Mijas

Friday, 25th July 2025 at 09:28

Banana Kitchen is currently showing a collection by Swedish artist Henrik Diamant. Diamant, who was born in Stockholm but now lives in Mijas Pueblo in Spain, began painting when he was a young child. His work reflects influences of Swiss-French architectural painter Le Corbusier, and the symbolic style of Spanish surrealist painter Joan Miró. His paintings are influenced by surrealists and abstract approaches, which use dreamlike imagery and spontaneous shapes.

Diamant’s work combines abstract and figurative elements with layers of muted colours and complementary shades. He employs traditional materials and techniques, utilising egg tempera, acrylic and gesso; his designs are inspired by his imagination, as well as the landscapes and urban life of Andalucía.

The exhibition is open Tuesday through Friday from 9am to 5pm. (Saturday till 3pm).
