The exhibition “From Cézanne to Picasso, from Kandinsky to Miró” is filled with 128 graphic masterpieces by leading European artists from the late 19th century to the post-war period.
It features works by such luminaries as Manet, Renoir, Cézanne, Picasso, Kandinsky, Miró, and others, including Ensor, Klee, Chagall, and Dalí and the collection follows the evolution of avant-garde movements.
This exhibition is not just about highlighting iconic artists. It also explores how different printmaking methods, such as lithography and woodcut, can express themselves. The exhibition explores the dynamic relationship between artists and trusted printers. It goes beyond the traditional relationship between creator and producer. This synergy was what made printmaking a key medium for artistic experiments in the 20th century.
Visitors will have the opportunity to learn about the rich history of European modernism through the use of these techniques and see how they have shaped the work of masters such as Matisse Duchamp Fontana. The exhibition highlights the innovation and diversity of graphic art while revealing its importance in the larger narrative of modern art.
The exhibition will be inaugurated on Friday, May 30, at the Museo del Grabado Español Contemporáneo, Calle Hospital Bazán, Marbella, and will continue until November.
