Estepona’s mayor learns to bowl

Benavista Bowls Club began raising funds in spring 2025 to purchase a new carpet. Members have been making private donations and busy with fundraising activities.

One member hand-sewed a beautiful patchwork quilt for which members and their families and friends bought raffle tickets, which raised €500. Another raised over €1000 for a mega raffle by asking for donations of gifts and vouchers from many generous shops, restaurants and businesses along the Estepona coast.

Jose Luis Urbano the Mayor of Estepona was invited to the club on 25th September and cut the ribbon at the official inauguration. All members were delighted by this and afterwards tapas was served to get everyone in the party mood.

The club would like to thank the Mayor for his presence and all of his colleagues. We also want to express our gratitude to family, friends, and businesses that have helped our club to continue to thrive and enjoy bowling and socialising with each other.

If you’re interested in joining Benavista, send them a message at 647 50 68 80 or email them at imdren@icloud.com.
