For the ninth year running, Estepona Town Hall has partnered with the Alliance Française of Malaga to promote French language education and cultural activities in the town.

A renewed agreement with the Town Hall allows French classes, workshops and cultural events at the Padre Manuel Cultural Centre. Nearly 900 students have participated in the programme since it began in 2017.

Children and adolescents will be able to take part in the courses from June until June. The adult courses are divided into two 90-minute sessions per week, while the junior and children’s courses only have one session. A new class has been added this year for French-speaking children ages 4-5, to encourage language learning in a foreign context.

There are also conversation classes for those who wish to learn French on a casual basis. Courses are offered primarily at the Padre Manuel Cultural Centre. However, online courses are available.

To encourage participation, those enrolling in annual children’s and junior courses or four-month adult courses between July 1 and 10 will receive a €50 discount. Additional discounts are offered for loyalty, families, and friends, and special subsidies are available for vulnerable groups through the Town Hall and Alliance Française agreement.

For the sixth year, the Alliance Française will also offer extracurricular French courses at IES Mediterráneo in Estepona to prepare students for official exams, with plans to expand this to other schools in the future. The Alliance Française, the only official exam centre for DELF and DALF certifications in Málaga province, will hold exam sessions in February. Workshops will be held from November to Februarh, with a focus on the exam method, practice tests and the four required competences, conducted by DELF/DALF certified examiners. These internationally recognised diplomas are valid for academic and professional purposes.

As well aslanguage education, the Alliance Française will continue promoting French-speaking culture through free monthly film screenings at the Padre Manuel Cultural Centre and other events throughout the year.
