This November, animal lovers will have plenty to look forward to on the Costa del Sol. There are plenty of weekend activities for pet lovers, from lively dog fairs to hands-on farm adventures to charity walks.

These events are great for weekend activities or as a way to help others. They promise fun, connections, and lots of tail-wagging.

Torremolinos hosts its annual Dog Fair

Torremolinos will host a huge celebration for dog lovers when the International Dog Fair returns on November 15-16 to the Palacio de Congresos. The popular event is expected to attract nearly 2,000 dogs of 153 different breeds.

Visitors can enjoy a packed programme including dog shows and competitions, agility and scent‑work demonstrations, retriever and poodle single‑breed contests, a “Social Dog” challenge, and even a diving pool exhibition.

Entry is free to the event organized by the Sociedad de Caninas de Costa del Sol. It is open for dog owners, breed enthusiasts, families, and other interested parties. To participate, all dogs must be in possession of a passport valid for the current year, a vaccination card and a microchip.

Organizers of the event have announced that there will be “Veterinary first-aid area”, “Training Demo Zone” and a “Meet The Breeders” Lounge, which offer visitors the chance to interact with experts and gain expert insights over the course of the weekend. Children’s activities will also be scheduled to keep them entertained.

The fair attracted more than 12,000 people last year and is expected to grow even larger this year. This event offers a rare opportunity to view rare breeds, observe expert demonstrations, and get tips from trainers.

The fair is a great weekend for both locals and visitors. From adorable pups to high-energy shows, the Torremolinos Dog Fair promises entertainment, education and plenty of tail‑wagging fun.

Mini farm fun in Mijas

On November 15-16, families can enjoy a fun-filled mini farm day at I Mini del Guado. The event will run from 11am until 4pm and promises to be a day of fun for kids aged five years old and older.

You can get close to miniature horses and doesnkeys that are the only ones in Spain. This day is packed with hands-on activities including feeding animals, playing games, doing arts and crafts and participating in contests. This is a great way for kids to learn about animals, meet new people, and explore the farm.

Organisers hope this event will spark curiosity and creativity, and give families the chance to spend quality time with each other and enjoy fresh air. The activities are designed to be educational, fun and memorable for kids who like animals and adventure.

Parents are advised to call in advance and book by calling +34 6257 00 360 for information in English.

I Mini del Guado can be easily reached from the Costa del Sol. It is a great weekend getaway. Meet these miniature horses and donkeys and enjoy the games.

Coin Charity Dog Walk

Local organisation TAPAS, the Andalucía Performing Arts Society, is calling on dog lovers in and around Coín to lace up their walking shoes and join a special charity dog walk on Sunday, November 16, at 11am.

The goal of the event is to raise money and awareness to support the Alzheimer’s Dementia Support Group. A cause that continues affecting many families throughout the area.

The organizers promise a relaxed, circular route that is suitable for people of all ages, abilities and interests. They also emphasize community, connection, and lots of tails wagging. Participants are encouraged, whether they have a large or small dog, to enjoy a pleasant morning outside. The walk is a great opportunity for dogs to socialise with their owners while they meet new people.

The entry fee is 5 euros, and every euro donated goes directly to the Alzheimer’s Dementia Support Group. TAPAS members claim that the goal is to combine fun and purpose. This will give people an easy way to support this vital service which offers help, reassurance, and companionship for those who are affected by cognitive decline and memory loss.
