Huercal-Overa Town Hall has launched a new campaign to keep vacant lots and urban land clean and safe.
In order to ensure public health, safety, as well as aesthetic appeal, landowners must keep their properties neat and fenced. This will help to reduce potential hazards, while also improving the overall appearance of the city.
Huercal-Overa: Clean & safe urban area.
The town, under the leadership of the Mayor Domingo Fernandez Zurano is conducting regular inspections in order to ensure that the maintenance regulations are being followed. The town reminds owners of vacant lots that their land should be free of any waste, spontaneous plants, and mineral or organic residues that may attract pests or create unpleasant smells. All plots are required to be properly fenced using stable materials in order to improve public safety.
The deadline for completing maintenance work is 1 May 2025, after which fines of up to €3,000 may be imposed for non-compliance. These measures are not only aimed at creating a healthier, more attractive community but also to reduce fire hazards and stop abandoned plots being used as dumping grounds.
Together, the residents and authorities of Huercal-Overa can make sure that it remains a clean and orderly place to live. The property owners are encouraged now to take action and be a part of this transformation.
