Couple and their dogs saved after Quitapellejos flash flood
The rescue team arrived and found the vehicle partially buried among the pine trees. It was surrounded by mud and water. The couple called for help inside their motorhome using their camping lanterns and mobile phones. The water was up to the waists of the officers and the conditions were becoming dangerous. So, the team used an agricultural net as a safety rope and equipped the couple with life jackets.
The couple and their dogs, once rescued safely, were brought to a secured area created by the Guardia Civil and Civil Protection. The couple, who were showing signs of hypothermia as well as disorientation and confusion, were taken to a secure area set up by the Guardia Civil and Civil Protection.
