A BRITISH driver fled from a Guardia Civil Checkpoint in Benidorm, and drove 150 km/h the wrong way on the N-332.
Around 1am on Sunday, the 45-year old drugged and drunk driver led Benidorm Policia Local in a chase of four kilometers.
The officers travelled parallel to the Brit on the wrong carriageway, flashing warning lights to alert other drivers.

Enrique Tortosa said, Benidorm Policia Local spokeswoman, that the patrol vehicle helped more than 30 drivers avoid an accident.
Tortosa said, “We were able to stop the driver near the San Jaime Cemetery on the N-332. This was a safe place for this manoeuvre.”
The British man who lives in Spain tested positive for alcohol and drug abuse.
He was then handed over to Guardia Civil for further investigation.
He has been charged with multiple crimes relating to road safety.
This is the second incident in a little over a week where a British driver who was incapacitated caused mayhem in Alicante.
A drugged 49 year old man led police in a high speed chase that lasted for about 10 km on April 29.
The man damaged at least 12 vehicles as he drove on the wrong side of the road, including the A-7 and N-340 near Alcoy and Cocentaina.
While arresting the Brit, two Guardia Civil Officers were also assaulted.
