A DRUG ‘mummy’ with 2.3 kilos of cocaine bandaged round his legs has been arrested at Barcelona Airport.
The man had arrived from South America on what authorities designated as a ‘hot flight’.
The flights that are frequently used to transport drugs to Spain and other European nations are under special surveillance.

The Policia Nacional was interested in the man’s case on January 29, during a routine inspection.
Officers were suspicious of the suspect because of his nervousness and his inconsistent answers to why he had come to Spain.
The officer then brought him to the Tax Agency Customs Service for a thorough inspection.
The man’s luggage was thoroughly searched, but a superficial inspection revealed eight packages of cocaine strapped between his thighs and calves.
Police call these traffickers drug ‘mummies’, due to the techniques they use to hide narcotics.
Wrapping the drugs with adhesive tape or elastic fabric, they can fool people into thinking it is a bandage.
The detainee, who was brought before El Prat de Llobregat’s court for a charge of public health offense, was arraigned.
