Drone flies into protected airspace above nuclear power plant in Spain

A DRONE Pilot has gotten himself into some trouble after flying the unit over a Nuclear Power Plant in Valencia Province.

Last Tuesday, the incident occurred.

Flight detection equipment installed at Cofrentes’ plant detected the drone that had violated airspace.

The Guardia Civil received notification and the coordinates where the drone operated.

Officers searched Jalance (south of the plant) and found a person carrying the drone with its remote control.

He was asked for papers granting him permission to fly the plane, but he only had details of a Peruvian training course to show.

He had also no proof that he had taken out insurance.

He is now facing sanctions for his transgression.
