Lions’ generosity protects donkeys

Donkeys are protected by the generosity of Lions

Donkey Dreamland in Mijas is preparing to start construction of a new quarantine paddock. It will be named “Lion’s Paddock” after the generous donors.

A generous donation made by the La Cala de Mijas Lions Club has enabled this project to be realized. This will create a safe, secure environment for new rescues such as a foal, Leon, and his mother Antonella.

The paddock, made of the best materials, has been delivered. This area will serve as an important quarantine for donkeys who arrive without deworming or vaccinations or who show signs of aggression or fear. This area is dedicated to allowing new arrivals to adjust before they join the sanctuary’s donkeys. Richie O’Connor of Donkey Dreamland said, “This was a longtime goal for us.” Thanks to the Lions Club we can now give our donkeys a good environment to start their new life.

The sanctuary is grateful to the La Cala de Mijas Lions Club, for helping improve the facility and the lives of donkeys rescued.
