Donkey Dreamland temporary closure

Donkey Dreamland will be temporarily closed.

Amaya Aisert and Martine Mijn, owners of Donkey Dreamland Mijas, have announced a temporary closure to the public of the donkey sanctuary due to unavoidable circumstances.

Amaya says, “This decision has been made for a variety of reasons. But the main reason is the sheer number of new rescues that we are currently working with.”

Martine confirmed “that over the past few weeks we have rescued eight Donkeys from Mijas Pueblo.” These donkeys needed immediate medical care so we decided that they should be taken in. These donkeys have suffered both mentally and physically. They will need a lot of time to recover. In the next few weeks, all donkeys will need to be castrated either chemically or surgically. This will add a lot more work for us.”

Amaya said, “It’s not just extra work from the donkeys’ care, it’s extra work by our maintenance team building fences in order for them to be safe and secure in paddocks instead of in the stables.”

Martine stated that she was exhausted from the current situation and needed to focus on providing her donkeys with the care and love they require.

Amaya has promised to keep you all informed about the happenings at Donkey Dreamland.
