Spain can select the venue, the surface of the court and the date for the match. The clay is preferred.
Another option being considered is the bullring in Logroño in the north of Spain, but work would have been done there to accommodate spectators.
It is possible to expand the seating capacity of the Manolo Santana court in Puente Romano by using portable bleachers.
Marbella has already hosted a Davis Cup tie, against Romania, in 2022. This was the first time that Carlos Alcaraz, Alejandro Davidovich, and the venue had played together.
If Spain wins, it will qualify for the Davis Cup Final 8 which it has hosted in recent times, but will now be played in Bologna Italy between November 17-23.
