Shoplifters foiled in audacious bid to steal hundreds of cans of tuna fish from Costa Blanca supermarket

CSN News: Shoplifters who tried to steal hundreds cans of canned tuna from Costa Blanca supermarket were foiled.

Three shoplifters tried to steal 300 cans each of tuna in a Javea supermarket, but failed.

Last Monday, staff at Lidl spotted the trio loading their carts with only one product. This raised suspicions.

They called the Javea Policia Local as a precaution.

Two of the fish thieves were arrested after they left their tuna unpaid.

Unknown to police, a third man fled in a car that he crashed and was forced to run away on foot.

The two detainees had to appear before a judge.

The boot of the vehicle was found to contain a cache of stolen tuna.

The thieves were at Lidl Finestrat branch, located 70 km away. They had taken dozens cans.

There are no further details about the shoplifters or their crimes, such as whether they have committed similar crimes.
