International gang based in remote Alicante finca grew and exported marijuana to countries including the UK

CSN News reports that an international gang operating out of a remote Alicante finca has grown and exported marijuana to other countries, including the UK.

Residents of a small town in the province of Alicante were shocked when they discovered an international drug gang operating out an isolated finca.

The Guardia Civil, in conjunction with the Policia Nacional, dismantled a crew of about 200 people from Millena.

Four people, two Albanians, and two Dutch have been arrested. A large indoor marijuana plantation has also been closed.

MARIJUANA PLANTS REMOVED

Around 800 marijuana plants were seized with the group paying an annual property rental fee of €18,000- split into six-monthly cash transactions.

The crew took constant security measures, and frequently traveled between Spain and other European countries such as the United Kingdom and France in order to distribute drugs.

Some of them were awaiting prison sentences and criminal records for drug crimes abroad.

The police in Millena encountered resistance when they attempted to arrest the suspects last month.

Two Albanians, both 25 years old, fled the finca by smashing a wall of plasterboard and running along adjacent terraces.

With the help of a drone, officers caught and restrained them after they put up ‘significant resistance’.

A Dutchman aged 25 was detained in Alcoy, while his partner, an older woman, was arrested close to the finca.

The Dutch couple was granted bail, while the Albanians were denied.

Authorities said it was ‘major blow’ against organised crime in Alicante province and have not ruled out making further arrests.
