Acid attack in Spain sparks fear among locals after woman is targeted while walking her dog

CSN News reports that a woman was attacked while walking her pet in Spain, causing fear among the locals.


On Friday, a man threw acid in the face of a woman walking her dog on a Costa Blanca beach.

At around 9pm, an incident took place on Calle del Samaruc (Mutxamel).

Residents of the area were shocked and worried about what happened.

The Guardia Civil reported that a man in a hood walked up to a woman and threw the liquid at her.

The attacker then fled the scene in a car.

The victim had only been living in the area a short while and never filed a complaint of gender violence.

Guardia is still investigating and has not made any arrests.

Paramedics treated the woman and transported her to Sant Joan d’Alacant Hospital.

She was released shortly after discharge.
