Guardia officers launched a special operation called ‘Dark Soul’ after discovering it had been moved 500 kilometres to Dolor in Granada province.
Inquiries revealed that the car’s parts were being advertised on a scrapyard website for €35,000.
The vehicle was not deregistered because its owner did not consent to it being moved or deregistered.
Officers visited a yard in Valencia and discovered a group of cars that were illegally transported from Valencia. Twelve had been stolen, according to the owners.
The tow truck company based in Granada, which specializes in transporting damaged vehicles to authorized repair centres, transported the cars.
The Guardia Civil has widened its net and conducted seven inspections of businesses in Dolor.
The police found 107 stolen vehicles in the town.
Three people have been arrested for receiving stolen goods, document forgery, and vehicle theft.
An investigation is coordinated by the court of Lliria in Valencia.
