The desperate search for a missing American bicycle is under way. He vanished in Andalucia nearly two weeks ago.
Matt Opperman, 50 years old (pictured above), was last seen in the vicinity of Segura de la Sierra.
The Olive Press reported tonight that his brother Marc Opperman said: “His vehicle was found recently near Castillo de Segura de La Sierra.”
“He is a regional cyclist who competes in Malaga. Yeti Cycles employs him.”
“Around 500 regional response teams are involved in the hunt for the mountains.”
The athlete was a member in good health of the SpainDh Club at the time he disappeared.

The expat, who has lived between Malaga and Jaen since some time and speaks fluent Spanish, is a native Spanish speaker.
His family believes he drove his black Volkswagen to Segura dela Sierra to go cycling.
The bike is a turquoise Yeti e-bike with an orange fork.
Two large search parties are being organised by loved ones this weekend. They are looking for volunteers.
The first will start at 9am on Saturday, followed by another at 9am on Sunday, both starting at the ‘Era del Fustal-Peña del Olivar’ intersection.
