This year marks the 250th anniversary of Diego Fernández (26 December 1703-15 February 1775), the renowned harpsichord maker from Vera.
On 15 February, to celebrate his legacy, Auditorio Ciudad de Vera will host an event that brings together music lovers in honour of one of Vera’s most notable historical figures.

Fernández was a master craftsman, famed for his exquisite harpsichords, which combined precision engineering with artistic beauty. His instruments were highly respected in his day, and continue to be so today.
The celebration begins in the morning with a harpsichord masterclass (10.00 – 12.00pm), led by the esteemed musician Luisa Morales, offering a unique opportunity for attendees to explore the instrument’s history and technique.
The evening culminates in a tribute (8.00pm) featuring an outstanding lineup, including soprano Francesca Calero and flautist Alison Merville. Harpsichordist Luisa morales will also be performing. Their performances will bring the magic of Fernández’s era to life, filling the auditorium with the sounds of Baroque music.
The best part is that entry is completely free. Music lovers and history buffs will not want to miss this event.
