Last night, the atmosphere in Fuengirola was electric (11th July) Electricity As around 15,000 people waited to get into the Marenostrum area where Jennifer Lopez would be performing her Up All Night concert.  The atmosphere was sour after the gates did not open as planned at 7.45pm.  It was decided to delay the event due to the yellow weather alert for gale-force 7 winds.

Gale force winds cause major delays

Gary Jones, the presenter of our show, was at the front of the line. It says We received an email informing us that there was a delay and an update would be available within an hour.  But no update came.  There were thousands waiting without water or any idea whether the show would go on.  After about two-and-a half hours of waiting, the crowd was getting restless..

Around 9.30 pm, fans were allowed to enter. Many have reported a chaotic rush, with little direction and poor organization.  Some people have said they felt unsafe as the crowd rushed towards the entrances.  Staff stopped checking tickets and bags, and allowed people to pass.

“Danger And Despair

Jennifer Lopez’s show was set to start at 9.45pm. But didn’t take the stage until 10.50pm, as fans were still arriving at the venue.  Concertgoers are angry at the organizers who let the show begin while fans were still trying enter the venue.  Maddie Hjort described in a Facebook post People pushed barriers over once they heard the start of the show.  She says The lack of security and the danger it brought was horrendous! “There were kids there!”

Rip Off Refreshment Charges

Other fans are furious that once inside the venue they were charged €5 for a small bottle of water. Joanne Copestake tells us We’d waited for three hours in the scorching heat, but there was no water available.  Once we got in, we had to pay €5 just for water, it’s disgraceful and dangerous.  Marenostrum is a terrible place to go.“.

Sound quality problems distract from the performance

Gary Jones, speaking of the performance itself: Jennifer Lopez was in fantastic form Though there are some issues with sound.  “She was amazing”, He told us.  Her energy and connection with the crowd were everything you would expect from someone her stature.  She was let down at times by the sound, and I think the wind affected the sound.  It says something that people only talk about the terrible organisation and not the wonderful show.

Complaints & Refund Requests

Marenostrum and the tour organizer have not made any public statements about the event. Tickets holders are advised to email sales@lasttour.org with any complaints and requests for refunds.
