The three men will continue to hold their current positions at Brentford.
Cliff Crown stated: “It’s an honour to be a member of Merida. A historic team in not only the region, but in Spanish football as well.”
The foundations that have been laid by the previous work will remain the same.
He added that “this was another important factor in our decision to join this club along with its sound financial standing.”
Mark Heffernan – the former owner – became the majority share holder in October 2021. A year later he became the president.
The team’s first season was 2021-2022. They finished second in their league and were promoted to the Second Federation.
Merida continued to perform well in the next year and was able to maintain its position as the third division of Spanish football, earning an impressive 8th spot in the Primera Federacion.
The team placed 12th last season and is currently ranked second under Sergi Guillo.
Mark Heffernan was thanked by the club for his dedication to Merida. He will continue to serve as a consultant during the transition period to new owners for the next 12 months.
On Wednesday, further details will be announced at a news conference.
