Cruz Roja Golf Tournament, Benahavís

Cruz Roja Golf Tournament, Benahavís

The second year of the Cruz Roja Golf Tournament will take place on Saturday, July 5, at the prestigious Zagaleta New Course in Benahavís.

The event is a combination of a love for golf and a desire to help vulnerable families in the province.

After the success at the Real Club Guadalhorce of the inaugural golf tournament, the Spanish Cruz Roja leverages golf once again to promote social benefit. The event is open to non-players as well, with a €75 ticket granting access to a cocktail event while contributing to the cause.

The tournament, backed by Zagaleta New Course, Occidental Puerto Banús, and Tiara Health, is part of the Cruz Roja’s broader cultural, musical, and sporting initiatives in Andalusia. María del Mar Pageo, president of the Spanish Red Cross, stressed the organisation’s commitment to transparency and direct help, particularly as rising costs of basic goods and services continue to impact severely on vulnerable families.

The competition is played as a Stableford-best-ball format with a maximum 60 players (maximum 30 pairs). Top three pairs in the competition will receive prizes. Players will also receive a welcome kit with Cruz Roja merchandise and sponsorship donations. They will also get green fees, buggies shared, practice balls and water. This year, notable participants include Dr. Francisco Peñalver of Tiara Health and Michelin-starred chef Dani García, bringing some serious  prestige to the event.

The day will finish up with a cocktail party hosted by Alabardero Catering & Experiences, open to players and non-players for €75. There will be a raffle and prize ceremony with high-valued items such as trips, stays at Villa Padierna, golf bags and laser rangefinders.

All proceeds from the event will go directly to Cruz Roja social projects within Malaga Province. This will benefit those in need. The Cruz Roja provincial president will explain at the event how contributions translate into tangible impact on the community.
