Crooked carer steals €30k from dead client by using her bank account and cash cards in Valencia


A WOMAN who cared after an elderly female client in Valencia helped herself to over €30,000- mainly after she died last September.

The 43-year old carer made transfers into her 24-year son’s bank to receive the stolen funds.

Fraud has led to the arrest of both mother and son by the Policia Nacional.

Police were called after a relative reported that a number of suspicious bank transfers could not be authorised as the victim was deceased.

According to the investigation, the woman has had a caregiver since 2023. She had full access to her house in the Patraix district of the city.

This included access to her bank account and cash cards.

The number of bank transactions involving her account has increased since last autumn. There were numerous card payments, ATM withdrawals, and transfers.

The police has handed over the case to a Valencia court
