Cristiano Ronaldo surprises football fans by acquiring a 25% stake in Andalucia Club

The football superstar Cristiano Cristiano bought a 25 percent stake in the Spanish club UD ALMeria.

The team is currently ranked third in La Liga’s second division.

The 41-year old Portuguese footballer, who is also an ex-Real Madrid star, revealed that he made the move via CR7 Sports Investments. This new subsidiary was created by his CR7 SA, a company through which he runs his business and invests.

“UD Almeria, a Spanish club that has a solid base and a clear growth potential. I look forward working with the team to support the club in this new phase of its growth,” he said.

Ronaldo is now closer to Saudi Arabia as he plays football for Al-Nassr.

SMC Group of Saudi Arabia, owned by Mohamed Al Khereiji has acquired the majority stake in UD Almeria from Riyadh Season boxing tycoon Turki Alalshikh.

Ronaldo’s statement offers no financial details about his ‘strategic investment’ but stressed that the move reflected the striker’s long-term commitment to the ownership of professional football teams and was an important milestone for him, as an entrepreneur and investor.

UD Almeria President Mohamed al Khereiji also expressed his happiness that Ronaldo has chosen to invest with his club.

Al Khereiji stated that “he is considered the best in the field. He understands the potential we are building both for the team as well as the academy.”

Ronaldo invested $7.5m in the Herbalife-linked HBL Pro2col Software LLC for a 10% share in exchange for a $7.5m investment.

The 41-year old also has investments Perplexity AI and Bioniq, while his CR7 operations include hotels, fitness and fashion.
