Could Oasis come back to Spain in the future? Rumours swirl after Atletico Madrid president hints at deal for gig next summer

Could all of this be part The Masterplan?

Rumours are circulating that British rockers Oasis might return to Spain in the summer of next year for the first time since 17 years. The president of Atletico Madrid has hinted at a possible agreement for a number of gigs.

The Gallagher brothers – Liam and Noel – are mid-way through a tour All Around the World after finally burying the hatch on a long-running feud which infamously reached its nadir with a backstage row at the Rock en Seine festival in France in 2009.

They also include a variety of other activities in their Oasis Live ‘25 Tour, the band have performed 19 shows in the UK as well as gigs in Canada, the US and Mexico – with performances in Asia, South America and Australia still to come.

But for European fans of the Rock ‘N’ Roll Stars, the euphoric celebrations of 90s nostalgia have felt Half the World Away with the Manchester-based band as yet avoiding the continent – although Some Might Say that could be set to change.

Enrique Cerezo teased that Oasis could perform at the Metropolitano in June or July, a stadium with a capacity of 60,000. Yes, yes, for sure…with water or without it, an oasis is definitely coming.”

Oasis fanatics were excited by the comments.

Even the Spanish Embassy in UK chimed in with a post on X, “Could this really happen?” Atletico de Madrid president claims that there is a possibility Oasis could play at the Metropolitano! Fingers crossed, Spanish fans!”

The last time the band played in Spain was in Madrid in 2009.

Oasis has not yet confirmed any dates beyond those already scheduled as part of their current tour. Live ‘25 Tour.

But the overwhelming success of the gigs – as well as the lack of fisticuffs between the two brothers – has left industry insiders hopeful that the band will add more dates.

Next year is the 30th anniversary of Oasis’ iconic concerts at Knebworth when over two-and-a-half million – over four percent of the UK population at the time – applied for tickets.

Oasis’ future is also expected to be brightened by the refurbishment of Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium.

It is highly probable that they will return to Spain and play the songs so many people know and love.
