If you’re planning a ski trip to Sierra Nevada this weekend, the resort workers will not be working on Saturday. The strike is expected to continue in the next few weeks.
Negotiations between employees of Cetursa and their employers, who run the resort, have broken down. This led to a walkout in the Pradollano area on March 1, when the resort was already crowded with families looking to do some skiing.
According to a union statement issued early on Saturday morning, the slopes will be closed throughout the day. The strike will affect not only daytime but also nighttime skiing, as well as the Mirlo Blanco recreation area.
Sierra Nevada strike days
The Sierra Nevada strike is not expected to continue on Sunday, 2nd March. However, the unions that are calling for the strike have stated that if their demands aren’t met, the stoppages would continue the following Saturdays: March 8, 14, 22 and 29, as well as the first three Saturdays in April.
Cetursa will refund any affected customers who already have a forfeit. Those who bought the passes online will automatically receive a refund to their account. If you bought your passes at Pradollano’s ticket offices, then fill in the online form to claim your refund. website.
