Alejandro “Chirri” died on December 23, 2018. He was the man who made Christmas magical for generations of children. Chirri wore the red suit for years, embodying Father Christmas’ spirit with warmth, joy and infectious festive cheer. His death has left a huge void in locals’ hearts, especially those of the little ones.

The town pays tribute to its hero

Casares Town Hall pays emotional tribute to Chirri for his commitment to making Christmas a memorable experience. In a statement of gratitude, the council said:

‘From Casares Town Hall, we want to express our enormous appreciation for all that our Father Christmas did for the town. His warmth made Christmas a special time for our children. We know that he will continue to spread the Christmas magic, wherever he may be. Around the World. Casares gives you a big hug.
