Many of our readership will remember how successful the couple was with their Eyedrop initiative. They rallied the Costa del Sol to donate unused school supplies and spectacles for Ugandan children and then personally delivered the items directly to the people who needed them the most. The pictures the couple brought home revealed some heartwarming moments.
On their return to Spain the couple started rallying again to raise funds for a 5,000 litre rainwater tank for the school that they visited during their African adventures. This time, the couple bought fridge magnets and souvenirs in Uganda to raise the money. The objective was for the purchase and installation of the water tank, something that was going to cost a total of €795. With the support of the community, they smashed that target and collected an incredible total of €1,648. The school is in contact with them to find out how to spend the remaining money to help children.
Alan’s not done yet. Alan has been running charity guided tours through Mijas Pueblo for some time. Since returning from Africa, he has raised an amazing €1,004 to donate to Pat’s Rescue Retreat for abandoned and mistreated animals in Pizarra.
