EWN: What is the best way to get in touch with you? What is the new gallery like?
Sharkey: The following are some of the ways to get in touch with us.The first day of school is upon us.ve just sold a painting for €7,500 to a guy from Wyoming.

EWN: Why this new gallery in Malaga, Spain?
Sharkey: Why? Why?I’ve sold 10,000 paintings. It’s time to expand and discover new markets. You must go to places where people are willing and able to pay for art. WeWe have had galleries in Ibiza, Barcelona and next week we will be opening one in Quinta do Lago (Portugal).

EWN: What is your source of inspiration?
Sharkey: You can also find out more about the following:Do you know that I am self-taught. And I am very fast. It’s like Russian roulette. Each of my paintings are unique. Some artists use a formula to paint the same thing repeatedly. I don’t believe in formulas.Don’t wait for inspiration. II am inspired by colour combinations. I could be inspired by something that someone wears or nature. I absorb nature.

EWN: Your paintings seem to have a mixture of Irish and African characteristics. Are you aware of it?
Sharkey: The answer is no, but there might be. The African part is represented by the vibrant colours, or perhaps those that resemble figures. You know, as a young child I was adopted by an all-white family and thrown straight into the culture of Dublin. I won 37 medals in Irish dancing. I won 37 medals in Irish dancing. It was hard to tell if the jig was good or just a surprise that a black child was doing it.

I used to work as a cook. Painting is similar to cooking. Sharing is the key. You’ll taste it and then you’ll understand. You might be missing a bit of salt. ItIt’s the same when painting. It’s missing a touch of red in order to balance the green. I just finished a painting. I just finished painting.I call it People are so shite when they talk about art.

EWN: What about the future, besides the art galleries? Will you ever return to politics again?
Sharkey: No. As I grew closer to power, I realized that politics does not change anything. They would ban politics tomorrow if it did anything. If politics did anything, they would ban it tomorrow.re selling democracy. But it’s not.T really exist. After I ran for the Irish Presidency and sold over 10,000 paintings I decided to devote my time to myself, my dogs and my magpie. I want to be alive until I’m a magpie.82 and no more.

You can also find out more about the following:I have a painting at the Portugal gallery. I put the price of €1.5 million on it. I put a price of EUR1.5 million on it.It’s a large painting. They say to me: Oh, I would not!Spend that money on a painting. What I thought was: Why not? Why not?
