Costa del Sol tops list of Spain’s five most expensive properties on the market 

SPAIN’S most eye-watering properties are clustered in just two areas – the Costa del Sol and the Balearics – according to new figures from property portal Idealista.

The fifth-placed villa is located in La Zagaleta Benahavis. It’s one of Europe’s most exclusive gated community. The 2,200 sqm villa, which is set on an 8,020 sqm plot of land, boasts double height windows and panoramic views of the Mediterranean. The price tag: €30 million.

Santa Eulalia del Rio is an incredible property with its own private bay, and even a cave. This villa has 10 bedrooms, 10 terraces and is located on the last private peninsula of Ibiza. It is on sale for €35 million.

Third is Villa Solitaire, an architect Matteo Thun’s futuristic masterpiece in Palma, Mallorca. The seven-bedroom house, which is inspired by sails that billow, has two swimming pools, rooftop jacuzzis and an outdoor movie theater. It can be yours for €39.5 million.

La Madrugada in Estepona, a Hispano Arabic estate surrounded by lush garden with views to both the mountains and sea, is the runner-up. The expansive finca has 17 bedrooms, 16 bathrooms and combines privacy with Costa del Sol style. Price: €40 million.

The crown goes to Marbella’s Golden Mile, where Spain’s most expensive property is listed for €50 million. The beachfront property includes nine bedrooms, a guesthouse and 1,600 sqm in living space. It also has nearly 5,000 square meters of gardens and a swimming pool.

This ranking shows how Costa del Sol, and Balearics, dominate the luxury market. Seven out of ten listings that are the most expensive come from these two areas. They remain for many the ultimate window shopping fantasy.
